Biography
Pianist Jean (Huang) Park, began taking piano at the early age of 5. Since then, she has become a distinguished and talented pianist shown through performances, scholarship, competitions, and festivals. Jean Park has won second place in the Schubert Club National Piano competition in the collegiate division and also second place in the Bauru-Atlanta piano competition. She has also received the National Association of Asian Professionals and Collaborative Artists East West Scholarship as well as other scholarships and awards. She has attended a number of music festivals such as the CCM Prague International Piano Institute, Sewanee Music Festival and Vienna International Piano Academy.

A popular and award-winning teacher, Jean Park maintained a studio of over 25 students (and with a long waiting list) before moving to New York. In 2009, her student took second place at the Eastside Performing Arts Festival in her first time entering. Other students have also received praise in adjudications and performances. Jean was selected for the MTNA StAR Award in 2008, an award for which she was chosen on the basis of excellence in academic achievement, successful teaching experience and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Jean has recently graduated from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music completing the Master's in Music degree in Piano Performance (2011) studying with Daniel Epstein and Andre Michel Schub. Prior to this, Jean held double degrees from the University of Washington, with a bachelor’s degree in piano (2008) studying with Dr. Regina Yeh and also in Business (2008) with a double focus on International Business and Human Resources. Other piano teachers that Jean has previously studied with include Mary Toy and Bela Siki.

Jean currently lives in Queens, NY with her husband Young who is in his first year of residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital.
